American Truck Simulator Louisiana DLC

American Truck Simulator Louisiana to get custom Depots

Over the past few months we’ve had a total of 4 previews of the upcoming Louisiana DLCs, and today marks the 5th, this time focusing on some of the depots/industries that can be found around the DLC.

Unlike standard prefabs found around the American Truck Simulator world, some of the depots in the upcoming Louisiana DLC have instead been hand made by the developers, most of which draw inspiration from real-world locations. The previews shown by SCS show a total of five of these custom depots, three of which are farms and two of which are timber harvest depots.

The screenshots below show the latter, the timber harvest depots. Louisiana’s timber industry originally began to rise in the late 1800s, and has remained key to the economy, bringing in over 11 billion dollars in 2021, which is no surprise given almost 50% of Louisiana’s land is forest.

The modelling shown in these screenshots looks to be some of the best produced by SCS yet, especially with all the small details like vines.

We then have some previews of the three farming depots. While agriculture was once one of the main economy drivers in Louisiana, only a few residents still make their living from farming outside of forestry. Most of these farms today produce either sugar cane, cotton, rice, soybeans, poultry, and beef.

Once again, the modelling here also looks very detailed, and the farmyards look like they’ve had a good amount of time put into them. It’s great to see compared to the default prefabs found in other areas.

The Louisiana DLC still does not yet have a release date, but given this is the 5th preview, it’s hopefully coming relatively soon. You can wishlist the DLC on steam on the dedicated store page: https://store.steampowered.com/app/3012580/American_Truck_Simulator__Louisiana/
