It’s that time of the year when the Steam Autumn Sale has begun (albeit earlier this year), and there are lots of discounts to be had on some great simulation titles, so we’ve compiled a list of some of the best discounts and a few comments about each title and why you might want to consider picking it up.
As a quick heads up, we haven’t been paid to promote any of the games listed here, it’s just a list of what we consider to be good deals. The games are listed in the order of sale percentage shown on steam, and not ordered on specific recommendation.

[-90% – $3.99] Transport Fever 2: This is one of my personal favorites, and is everything you could possibly want from a transport simulation tycoon. Think cities skylines, but rather than building cities, you build the transport and the cities build around you. It’s also getting a sequel next year, making it a great time to get into the series.

[-87% – $2.59] theHunter: Call of the Wild: It’s a genre we haven’t covered on our site before, but theHunter is a fantastic hunting simulator featuring maps from all around the world. It’s got some of the best open world maps I’ve seen in simulators, full stop, and at it’s discounted price it’s a game I don’t think you can miss picking up.

[-80% – $5.99] Train Simulator Classic (2024): Train Simulator Classic (also known under multiple different names in the past such as Railworks) is one of the classic train simulators, and is ultimately what led to the birth of Train Sim World. It’s DLC will cost you more than a house, but it’s worth a bet that almost every train simulator enthusiast has this title, and there’s likely to be at least one route you’re interested in.

[-75% – $4.99] Euro Truck Simulator 2: We couldn’t forget one of the greatest trucking games of all time, could we? The Overwhelmingly Positive reviews on steam speak for themselves on this one, and it’s been getting free updates since 2012, winning multiple steam awards of labor of love. Almost of all its DLC is also on sale, so if you’re already a player of ETS, now might be a great time to pick up some of those DLCs.

[-75% – $4.99] American Truck Simulator: The new brother of Euro Truck Simulator 2, with much of the same features only based in the USA. It’s also been receiving updates since 2016, and almost all of it’s DLC is also on sale.

[-75% – $11.24] Planet Coaster: Planet Coaster is everything the roller coaster tycoon series should have ended up being, and it’s a game that you can easily sink hundreds of hours into. It has park management features for those that like the simulation aspect of completely managing your park, or you play sandbox and build to your heart’s content and simulator some of the best coasters out there.

[-75% – $4.99] PC Building Simulator: Like building PCs but don’t want to go into debt building them? Look no further! This is an older title as PC Building Simulator 2 is an epic games exclusive, but the first still holds up and has both a sandbox mode and a career mode where you work as an IT technician. It’s a fun sim to pass some time on and for the price I’d highly recommend picking it up.

[-75% – $9.99] Kerbal Space Program: To say this is a beloved title would be an understatement, people love this title which sees you building your own spacecraft based on realistic aerodynamic and orbital physics. Just a heads-up: It might take a while to build a rocket that doesn’t explode!

[-70% – $8.99] Cities: Skylines (original): It’s one of the most beloved city building simulators/games out there, and it’s hard to not recommend picking this one up. The modding community behind cities skylines is remarkable to say the least, and you’ll quickly find yourself downloading thousands of mods. Most of it’s DLC is also on sale.

[-70% – $13.49] Planet Zoo: If you’re an animal lover, you’ll adore Planet Zoo. It’s the sibling of Planet Coaster, but rather than rides, you focus on animals. Just like you’d expect, it’s just as detailed as Planet Coaster, and features a wealth of animal specific features like diseases and diets.

[-67% – $9.89] X-Plane 11: Just like Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 below, this is an older title compared to the newer X-Plane 12, but X-Plane 11 still has the majority of addons and considering the discount, is a great deal for those looking to get into Flight Simulation and might want a different experience to MSFS 2020.

[-60% – $23.99] Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020: While it’s the older title compared to the newer 2024, it’s still considered a favorite among flight simmers due to its stability in comparison to 2024, along with it’s enhanced offline functionality. If you’ve ever wanted to get into Flight Simulation, it’s the title I’d recommend picking up.

[-60% – $11.99] SnowRunner: If you like mud, and if you like trucks, this one’s for you. SnowRunner has one of the best mud and snow physics simulations out there, and is generally just a fun all-rounder.

[-50% – $24.99] Ready Or Not: Some might call this a simulator, some might not, but I do think it’s worthy of the simulator title. It’s one of the better SWAT type games released in the last century, and it’s genuinely a difficult game. If you’re into police sims, this one is definitely for you.

[-50% – $29.99] Forza Horizon 5: Forza Horizon 5 is just an all round fun racing title. It might not be as in-depth as a full on racing simulator like iRacing, but it’s still one that definitely deserves to be in this list. As a bonus, it also runs great on Steam Deck or the ROG Ally.

[-40% – $29.99] Planet Coaster 2: We already mentioned Planet Coaster 1 in this article, but its newer sequel has received quite a few updates recently, which I think considers it a very worthy sequel. If you’re the owner of PC1, now might be a great time to pick up PC2 and try out its water park features.

[-30% – $11.69] Farming Simulator 19: If you’re new to the farming sim series, you might want to pick up an older version of the sim to see if you like it, and Farming Simulator 19 is generally considered one of the best by the community. It’s currently on sale for just $11.69, making it a good pick for newcomers to the series.

[-30% – $20.99] OMSI 2: OMSI 2 is one of the true classics, being released in 2013, and while its graphics might not be quite up-to-date, it’s still considered one of the best bus simulators to date. It’s DLC can be on the pricey side, but lots of it is well worth it. Also, it was made by just two people, which is pretty incredible.

[-20% – $39.99] Farming Simulator 25: If you’re a player of the previous farming sim series of games and have been waiting to pickup FS25, now might be a good time as it has received a wealth of mod releases as of recently, and it currently has a -20% discount.

[-20% – $12.79] ATC Ground Point: This is a mostly unknown game, but I’ve spent hours and hours on it and truly love it. It’s an ATC simulator that focuses purely on aircraft ground movements, and is an ATC simulator I’d been looking for, for as long as I can remember. It also has workshop support for custom airports, and it has a fairly active community of people who make them.
And that’s all of our simulator suggestions? If we’ve missed any you think should be included, leave us a comment! We’d love to know which titles you’ll be picking up.
