A brand-new entry to the Farming Simulator franchise had its release date announced this week, with Farming Simulator: Signature Edition coming to the Switch 2 console on December 9th.
If you aren’t too familiar with how the farming series works, each release usually alternates platforms. For example, the following titles were release for the following platforms:
- Farming Simulator 17 – PC, Xbox, and PlayStation
- Farming Simulator 18 – Nintendo 3DS, iOS, Android, and PlayStation Vita
- Farming Simulator 19 – PC, Xbox, and PlayStation
- Farming Simulator 20 – iOS and Android, and Nintendo Switch
- Farming Simulator 22 – PC, Xbox, and PlayStation
- Farming Simulator 23 – iOS, Android, and Nintendo Switch
- Farming Simulator 25 – PC, Xbox, and PlayStation
There have been a couple of exceptions to this though, for example, there was a Farming Simulator Nintendo Switch Edition released back in 2017, which was a port of the Farming Simulator 17 game. But generally speaking, Switch users received the mobile version of the game.
If you’re one of those switch players, however, there’s good news. Giants are once again repeating history and releasing a new special edition for Switch 2 users, this time being a direct port of Farming Simulator 25, which PC, Xbox and PlayStation users are currently already enjoying.
From the information we have so far, this does look to be a direct port of the 25 series, so many of the same features that 25 players have should be available on the signature edition, including the maps and machines, though there isn’t currently any word on DLC or Mod support, though I do believe the latter is unlikely.

The Farming Simulator: Signature Edition can be preordered now for Nintendo Switch 2 here, and will release December 6th, 2025.
