Firefighting Simulator: Ignite Hotfix 1 Goes Live

Last Friday we reported that Firefighting Simulator: Ignite was to get its first Hotfix/Patch, and today, it has been released to the world. The patch fixes some of the most reported issues, including one we mentioned in our initial review here.

Due to the compression issue that is mentioned in the changelog, the update has led to most content being recompressed, which has in turn led to an increased download size. The total download size seems to be coming in at roughly 22 GBs.

Changelog – Hotfix #1

  • Fixed issue where conscious victims would not properly enter the aerial cage when following the player
  • Fixed input issues on vehicle interactions (Siren, Yelp) while driving
  • Fixed an area that was almost impossible to extinguish in the mission “The Kiosk”
  • Fixed holes in destroyed residential roofs: It is no longer possible to fall through and get stuck
  • Fixed several translation issues
  • Fixed issues with AI firetruck obstacle detection (We reported on this issue in our review)
  • Fixed a compression issue on Intel 13th and 14th gen. (We reported on this issue in our reviewThis is also the reason for the increased download size)
  • Improved general game stability

While not mentioned by the developers in the release changelog, they did provide a known issue list along with some workarounds last week when they announced this patch was upcoming. You can find these below:

  • Extremely bright screen on PC: Try changing the Quality Preset in your graphics settings. You should be able to re-apply your original settings afterwards.
  • If you are experiencing crashes in the mission “Crashing the Party”, try skipping the approach when starting the mission. This can help to avoid the crash.
  • Severe FPS drops when using foam with FSR Frame Generation enabled: Disable FSR Frame Generation in the graphics settings.
  • Crashes related to GPU drivers: It may help to launch the game with the following startup option: “-clearPSODriverCache”. If your problem persists, remove this option again as it will slowdown the game start.
