Developers Halycon released the Hamburg City DLC for The Bus back in July, making the cities roads virtual for The Bus players to drive around, and today we get a preview of the northern expansion that’s due to release in a future update.
The update will feature line 7, which runs from Barmbek towards Steilshoop. During your travels, you’ll see multiple different areas, including a city center with shops and restaurants, commercial areas, and high-rise buildings. The developers also note that despite the dense urban development, the district is surprisingly green and varied.
Halycon note that this update includes many newly created buildings that have been modelled. Some of the buildings mentioned by them are the Catholic Church of St. Johannis on Gründgensstraße, the Emil-Krause School near Habichtstraße subway station, and modern single-family homes near the Borchertring terminus.
There are also allotment gardens which have not appeared in the Hamburg DLC before.

The developers also make note that while a new line means more than just new buildings. They’re also bringing new streets, pathways, markings, traffic signs, and countless other small details.
Something that’s also mentioned twice by them is that there are multiple teams working on this DLC. One team is working on the already released 6 and 17 lines, while another is working on the new buildings. There’s then a third team focusing on roads, pavements, curbs and traffic rules.

It’s important to note that all the images shown in the preview, and by us in this post, are development work in progress screenshots, and development continues to refine the DLC.
