Not long ago, we previewed SCS Software’s upcoming rework to Brussels, which is a part of the much bigger Project Benelux, and SCS have now previewed even more of this rework, specifically focusing on bodies of water.
SCS note that the Benelux countries have been shaped by rivers, canals, and the sea for centuries, especially in the Netherlands, where large parts of the country lie below sea level.

Windmills can also be found across the countryside, which SCS have been working on to bring to this rework.

The update also appears to be bringing some upgrades to ports, as SCS also note that the water is vital for logistics within the Benelux area, which features lots of natural rivers alongside man-made canals. The North Sea is also an important shipping lane, in which both Belgium and the Netherlands have major container ports, which SCS does seem to have modelled nicely.

Unfortunately, there isn’t yet a release date for this rework, but SCS notes they are contumely working on the project, and that all screenshots areas are still a work in progress.
