SCS Previews Louisiana Settlements for ATS

SCS has once again shown off some new previews for the up-and-coming Louisiana DLC. If you missed our past posts, you can find previews of Port Fourchon here and the Road Network here.

This week, however, we’re getting a preview of some of the towns and other settlements found in the DLC.

Ferriday

First on the preview list is Ferriday. Ferriday has a population of just under 3000, which sits around Lake Concordia. The town is associated with agriculture, due to the soil of the Mississippi River Delta. SCS notes that drivers passing through will find the city much quieter compared to the state’s bigger cities.

One of the town’s most recognizable landmarks is the First Baptist Church, which SCS has modelled in the DLC.

Ruston

We then get a few screenshots of Ruston. Ruston sits to the north of Ferriday, and is the state’s main hub for education, with it being home to the Louisiana Tech University. The cities total population sits at just over 22,000.

New Iberia

We then mover over to the city of New Iberia, which is the state’s 13th most populous city. With it being close to the Gulf Coast, the city is mostly surrounded by sugarcane fields and waterways.

SCS notes that drivers will spot the New Iberia Fire Station, which has been serving the community since 1991. It’s worth noting that the station modelled is actually for the Iberia Parish Fire District, and not the New Iberia Fire Department, which are two separate entities.

Bastrop

There’s then Bastrop. Bastrops industrial areas are shaped by paper and wood products, and SCS notes that players will notice the industrial influence when passing through. They’ve also recreated many of the local landmarks, such as the Morehouse Parish Courthouse, a local bank, and the community health clinic.

Abbeville

Last but not least, we are provided with a preview of Abbeville. The city sits on two sides of a lake, connected by two Drawbridges. While SCS hasn’t commented on if these will be modelled in the DLC, we think there’s a good chance of this seeing as the screenshots seem to show N St Charles Street, which does eventually connect to both drawbridges, including Highway 14, which is likely to be included.

The Louisiana DLC does not yet have a release date, but these previews hopefully signal that the release isn’t too far away. You can wishlist the DLC on steam on the dedicated store page: https://store.steampowered.com/app/3012580/American_Truck_Simulator__Louisiana/
