SCS Software have once again taken to their blog this week, this time giving us a preview of their upcoming Brussels rework, which is part of the larger Benelux Rework project.
Brussels is often called the capital of Europe thanks to its role as home to the European Union and many other international institutions, but beyond its politics, the city charms visitors thanks to its history, culture and architecture, something that SCS seems to be trying to achieve in the simulator with this rework.

SCS notes that one of the main parts of Brussels is coming to life in the Benelux Rework project – the city ring. The city ring features complex junctions and links industrial zones of the Forest and Anderlecht municipalities, which is home to a car factory, a chemical plant, and a logistics center.

From the ring road are several of Brussel’s distinctive landmarks come into view. These include the Atomium, Brussels Expo’s exhibition halls, and the cooling tower of the Centrale électrique de Drogenbos. The latter of which illuminates at night with playful LED lights in the real world, which SCS seems to have incorporated into the simulator as well.

Lastly, we then get a preview of the Schaerbeek municipality, where SCS has recreated some of the areas landmarks.

Unfortunately, there isn’t yet a release date for this rework, but SCS notes they are contumely working on the project, and that all screenshots areas are still a work in progress.
