SCS Software has given us a new look at the road network for the upcoming Louisiana DLC for American Truck Simulator.
It starts with them first giving us a glimpse of two tollgates that players will regularly pass through. The first one is located in the south of the state on LA-1 on the way to Port Fourchon. The second tollgate is on the northern bank of Lake Pontchartrain. The latter sits at the entrance to the longest continuous bridge over water in the world, spanning almost 24 miles across the lake to New Orleans.

Next up they give us a look at the Atchafalaya Basin, the nations largest river swamp. The image provided by SCS appears to show the boat ramp, and they appear to have done a great job at making this look like it’s real life counterpart.l

They then give us a glimpse of two other major roads in Louisiana, I-20, which runs east to west, and I-49, which runs north to south. Both of these highways intersect in Shreveport, making it a key crossroad for those travelling through the state.

Beyond the interstates, they us give us a glimpse of some of the state’s complex intersections. Louisiana has a handful of these in major cities like New Orleans, Baton Rouge, and Shreveport. There are also a handful of roundabouts around the state that it seems SCS may have included.

The Louisiana DLC does not yet have a release date, but these previews hopefully signal that the release isn’t too far away. You can wishlist the DLC on steam on the dedicated store page: https://store.steampowered.com/app/3012580/American_Truck_Simulator__Louisiana/
