SCS Software have taken to their blog to show off trucks stops in their upcoming South Dakota DLC. Just like in previous DLCs, the development team have been hard at work recreating some of the truck stops across the state to provide an authentic experience.
While driving around the state, players can look forward to taking a break and refuelling at some of these truck stops in towns and cities such as Buffalo, Spearfish, Martin, and Murdo. SCS has made sure that each truck stop has its own unique atmosphere.

One of the truck stops featured in the state is in Rapid City, the second most populous city in the state with a population of close to 80,000. The city has a truck stop situated close to the highway and with a view over a massive industrial complex, which SCS has faithfully recreated in the simulator.

They then show us a truck stop in the town of Wall, which has a population of just 672. The town’s name is inspired by the natural wall of rock formations near Badlands National Park. When entering the town, you’ll be greeted by the town’s dinosaur statue, which SCS has once again also faithfully recreated in the simulator.

Now over to Sioux Falls, which is the most populous city in South Dakota, with over 209,000 residents. The city features a truck stop located along I-90, which SCS has recreated and is previewed below. Also, nearby the truck stop is a truck dealership and a driver staffing agency.
It also sounds like SCS has modelled in the USS South Dakota Battleship memorial, as they mentioned to check it out while on your travels, though we sadly don’t have a preview of it.

The next truck stop we’re shown is in the city of Huron. The truck stop in this city sits close to Ravine Park Lake. Players stopping here will also notice farming machinery nearby, highlighting the strong agricultural traditions of the area.

Second to last is the truck stop in Watertown. This truck stop is located near the cities’ signature Art Center building, a landmark of the city. When comparing this truck stop to its real life counterpart on Google Maps, SCS seems to have done an excellent job at the modelling.

And then finally, we head over to Bison. Bison is a a town platted all the way back in 1907, and was named after the American bison that once roamed the land in great numbers. While the town has a population of just 302, it has its own small regional airport. While SCS mentions this airport directly in their blog post, it’s not clear if this airport will be modelled.

South Dakota for American Truck Simulator does not yet have a release date, however, you can wishlist the DLC now on Steam via the store page https://store.steampowered.com/app/3749870/American_Truck_Simulator__South_Dakota/
