Seafarer: The Ship Sim, which is due to release into early access on Oct 7th, 2025, has shown off two of the vessel that will be in the simulator at launch. Both ships are Fire Boats, which seems to indicate we’ll some kind of mission system involving firefighting, just like with the police ships we talked about in our article here.
Lancer
The first vessel is Lancer, a compact, although powerful ship designed to fire the toughest of fires at sea. The developers note that the ship focuses on one mission: “Fight fire fast and fight it effectively.”
One of the GIFs in the blog post by the developers also shows a dock, and given the post it’s in, maybe we’ll see some kind of ship fire at a dock mission.
Archer
The second fireboat shown is Archer. Archer is a smaller firefighting boat that brings rapid response capability. The vessel is designed to get to scenes quickly for a quicker intervention, as opposed to the larger ships which will take longer to arrive.
